Introduction
What visitors and workers see on the Kiosk, and how to set up the device that runs it.
The sign-in flow
1. Landing screen — organisation logo, welcome message and location name, with large Sign In and Sign Out buttons.
2. Enter Your Mobile Number — a country-code picker plus phone field; the number is checked against staff and contractor/employee records.
3. Matched or manual entry — if the number matches a staff or contractor record, their name, mobile and company pre-fill (with a "This isn't me — enter details manually" option to correct it). If there's no match, the visitor fills in their details manually.
4. Who are you visiting — a type-ahead search over staff at that site (searches from the first character typed); the selected staff member is notified.
5. Confirmation screen — thank-you screen with a 10-second auto-return to the landing screen, or a manual Back to Home button.
6. Sign Out — same mobile number, at any kiosk screen.
Need help? button
When Display Site Contact on Sign-In Kiosk is turned on (Account Settings > Live Access, or the per-location override), a Need help? button appears top-right on every kiosk screen. Tapping it opens a slide-over showing:
Account Settings > Live Access
Location — the site's name and street address
Primary Contact — the site's designated Site Contact: name, email and phone
Email and phone are styled like links but are display-only in kiosk mode — tapping them does nothing, so a visitor can't accidentally navigate away from the sign-in flow.
Staff notifications
SMS — sent only if the staff member has a mobile number on file. If sending fails, sign-in still completes silently for the visitor.
Message format: "VISITOR ARRIVAL: [name] from [company] is here to see you at [location]. Mobile: [visitor mobile]" (the "from [company]" part is omitted if no company was entered).
Email — always sent; subject line "[Visitor name] has arrived to see you", includes visitor name/company/mobile/purpose/time/location, a clickable phone number, and a link back to the Live Access dashboard.
Setting up the device
General best practice for locking down the device that runs the kiosk. See Setting Up the Kiosk Device for the full Android and iOS setup steps.
