The Super User Permission is required to manage Risk Areas, i.e. this is typically managed by ComplyFlow. If you can’t see the Risk Area you are looking for please contact support@complyflow.com.au
In the Risk Register module, there are configuration options for Risk Areas (and Categories). These two elements are essential prerequisites for creating a new Risk. The hierarchy of Risks in ComplyFlow is as follows:
Risk Area
Category (1 Risk area to many Categories)
Risk (1 Category to many Risks)
Control (1 Risk to many Controls)
What is a Risk Area?
A Risk Area is a broad description of the Risk type, for example, Financial, Strategic, or WH&S. Each Risk Area can have its own custom 5x5 Risk Matrix - refer to Risk Matrix Configuration.
Super Users can configure Risk Areas from the above screen
What is a Risk Category?
A Category is a child of the Risk Area and is used to classify each Risk. Refer to the examples below:
Risk Area | Category | Risk |
WH&S | Plant & Vehicles | Loading dock accidents |
WH&S | Working from heights | Falling |
Financial | Loans | Bad debt |
Environmental | Noise Pollution | Controlled explosions |
Environmental | Air Pollution | Controlled explosions |
For the WH&S Risk Area the Category would be interchangeable with a ‘Hazard’
Managing Risk Areas
From the Risk Register Module select the left menu Configuration > Risk Areas menu item.
Similar to other tables, we can perform searches here. Additionally, there are two available Actions: Edit and Archive.
The list of Risk Areas can be downloaded as CSV files by selecting the Download CSV button.
Creating a new Risk Area:
Select the Create Risk Area button.
The Add Risk Area slide-over panel will be displayed. Please input the Risk Area Name in the 'Risk Area Name' field. Ensure that the text does not exceed 64 characters in length and refrain from using any special characters. Then select Create to add a new Risk Area.
After saving, the panel will automatically close, and a Success Toast Notification will confirm the creation of the Risk Area.
Note: The Risk Area ID is automatically assigned and follows the format AXXXX, where X represents a four-digit number.
