19-08-2026 Restricted Admin Staging Area Workflow
Summary
Restricted administrators joining a client by client code or registration link are now approved by an administrator at their own company, instead of waiting for the ComplyFlow support team. Full and primary administrators can also add a client their company is already linked to, which previously stopped with an error.
Contractor Clients
Client access requests are now approved by your own company - When a restricted administrator enters a client code for a client your company is already linked to, the request goes to administrators at your own company instead of to the ComplyFlow support team. The request appears in your Staging Area list, and the administrators assigned to that client are emailed so they can approve it.
Clear feedback when you enter a client code - Entering a client code now shows a message matching what actually happened: "Request Submitted" with a summary of what happens next, "Pending Approval" if a request is already waiting, or "Already Have Access" if you are already linked to that client.
Administrators can now add a client the company already works with - Entering a client code for a client your company is already linked to used to stop with an error and no way forward. Administrators who hold a suitable licence, and primary administrators, are now given access straight away. For anyone else the request is sent to the primary administrator to approve.
Pending client access is shown while you wait - A restricted administrator waiting for approval now sees a "Pending Client Access" panel naming each client they are waiting on. It explains that they can see the client but should not add workers until their access is approved.
Administrators and workers are easy to tell apart in the Staging Area - Entries in the Staging Area review list show whether each pending person is an administrator or a worker, so primary administrators can see at a glance what they are approving.
Contractor Registration
Registering through a client link now raises the access request for you - A restricted administrator who registers using a client registration link containing a client code is added to that client's review queue as part of registering. Previously they had to log in afterwards and enter the same code again on the Clients page.
CF Admin
Restricted admin client approvals are now handled by the contractor - The Restricted Admin Client Approvals list has been removed from Admin Functions. These requests are approved by administrators at the contractor's own company instead.
Changes to Be Aware Of
The following changes may affect how some features work. Please review these if they apply to your organisation.
Client access requests are now approved by your own company - A restricted administrator entering a client code for a client your company already works with previously waited for the ComplyFlow support team to approve it. That step is removed. Administrators at your own company approve the request instead, and ComplyFlow support no longer sees these requests.
Approval emails now reach more administrators - The access request email previously went only to your company's primary administrator. It now also goes to every full administrator assigned to that client. The person making the request does not receive it.
