Connect ComplyFlow to Claude

Written by Support

Introduction

This guide shows you how to connect Claude to ComplyFlow by signing in to ComplyFlow. You don't need a token. Once connected, Claude can answer questions about your ComplyFlow data. It can also make changes for you, once write access has been turned on for your organisation. Write access is available on request.

The connection works in Claude on the web (claude.ai), the Claude desktop app and the Claude mobile apps.

Claude only sees what you can see in ComplyFlow.

Before you start

  • You need the MCP / API token access permission, or Edit Organisation Details, in ComplyFlow. Without it, ComplyFlow shows API access is not enabled for your account. Refer to Giving staff access to AI assistants.

  • Claude Team and Enterprise plans: only an organisation Owner can add ComplyFlow to Claude. Once they've added it, each person connects their own ComplyFlow account. Ask your Claude Owner to follow Add ComplyFlow to your Claude organisation below.

  • Claude Pro and Max plans: you add ComplyFlow yourself. Go to Add ComplyFlow yourself.

Add ComplyFlow to your Claude organisation (Team and Enterprise Owners)

1. In Claude, go to Organisation settings > Connectors.

2. Select Add, hover over Custom, then select Web.

3. Enter:

  • Name: ComplyFlow

  • URL: https://mcp.complyflow.com.au/mcp

4. Select Continue. Leave the authentication settings Claude detects as they are, and select Continue again.

5. Select Add.

Each person in your organisation then connects their own ComplyFlow account, as below.

Add ComplyFlow yourself (Pro and Max)

1. In Claude, go to Customise > Connectors.

2. Select + Add, then Add custom connector.

3. Enter the name ComplyFlow and the URL https://mcp.complyflow.com.au/mcp, then select Continue.

4. Leave the authentication settings Claude detects as they are, select Continue, then select Add.

Connect your account

1. In Claude, go to Customise > Connectors, find ComplyFlow and select Connect.

2. The ComplyFlow sign-in page opens. Sign in the way you normally sign in to ComplyFlow.

3. If you belong to more than one ComplyFlow organisation with API access, Choose an organisation appears. Choose the one you want Claude to use. Claude can only use that organisation. To use another, disconnect and connect again.

4. On Connect Claude to ComplyFlow, check what Claude will be able to do. Everything you have permission to do is ticked to start with, including making changes. Untick anything you don't want Claude to do. For example, untick all the "write" items if you only want Claude to read your data. Write items only take effect once write access has been turned on for your organisation.

5. Select Allow access. You're returned to Claude, and ComplyFlow shows as connected.

If you see API access is not enabled for your account, you don't have the MCP / API token access permission (or Edit Organisation Details) yet. Ask your ComplyFlow administrator.

Use ComplyFlow in a chat

1. Start a new chat.

2. Select the + button at the bottom left of the chat box, then Connectors, and check ComplyFlow is switched on.

3. Ask a first question: "Using ComplyFlow, who am I and what can I access?" If you have access to every site, it may say you have 0 allowed sites. That's expected: the number only counts sites you've been assigned to.

Claude asks before it uses a ComplyFlow tool for the first time. Choose Allow once or Allow always. We recommend Allow once for anything that changes data. Refer to Making Changes in ComplyFlow with an AI Assistant.

Claude on the web and the desktop app can also draw charts and build full reports from your data. Refer to Prompting tips: reports and finding information.

Disconnect Claude

Disconnect in either place:

  • In ComplyFlow: select your name or picture at the top right, then API Tokens. Under Connected apps, select Disconnect next to Claude and confirm. Claude loses access straight away.

  • In Claude: go to Customise > Connectors, select the three dots next to ComplyFlow and choose to disconnect.

To change which organisation or permissions Claude uses, disconnect, then connect again.
